The University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center (UWCCC) typically has 200 to 250 clinical trials available for patient participation. Clinical trials are treatment options that are experimental in nature utilizing new treatment methods, drugs or combinations of therapies. More than 700 patients each year elect to enroll on a clinical trial at the Cancer Center.

The Radiation Oncology department participates in numerous clinical trials. Some of the trials utilize technology that has been developed at the University of Wisconsin and is currently only available here. An example of this unique and innovative treatment would be Tomotherapy protocols that utilize a new radiation treatment technique. This research is sponsored the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Other trials are performed through a Cooperative Group effort allowing many different hospitals and cancer centers through out the United States and North America participate in cancer trials. Cooperative group efforts are also supported through NCI.

Please browse through the listing of clinical trials that are available through the UWCCC Clinical Trials Search Engine. Your physician can discuss potential treatment options with you.
