Elective Rotation - Medical Oncology & Hematology

Recommended Length: 4-6 weeks Primary Learning Objective:

Gain a better knowledge of the biologic rationale and clinical application of chemotherapeutic agents. Secondary Learning Objectives: Learn more about the mechanisms of action, dosages, and toxicities of different types of chemotherapy. Learning Activity Details: Attend didactic conferences given by the medical oncology attendings Participate in a variety of medical oncology clinics based on the interest of the resident and the availability the staff Clinics would include both new patients and follow-ups A minimum of five clinics per week (some full-day, some half-day) for a total of 4 full days in clinic each week Schedule to be established prior to beginning the elective rotation When not in clinic (one full day or two half-days each week), the resident will have reading time Recommended Physician Supervisors:
