The quality management program for the Radiation Oncology Physics Section addresses all the phases of patient treatments. Figure 1 shows a schematic of the general organization.
Guidance for the development of the Quality Management Program comes from:
- The American Association of Physicists in Medicine Report 46: Task Group 40, Comprehensive Quality Assurance for Radiation Oncology, published in Medical Physics 21: 581 - 618, 1994;
- The American Association of Physicists in Medicine Report 59: Task Group 56, Code of Practice for Brachytherapy Physics, published in Medical Physics 24: 1557 - 1598, 1997;
- The American Association of Physicists in Medicine Report 61:Task Group 59, High dose-rate brachytherapy treatment delivery, published in Medical Physics 25: 375 - 403, 1998;
- The State of Wisconsin, through Health and Human Services, Section 157;
- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission through the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10, Parts 20 and 35;
- B. Thomadsen. Achieving Quality in Brachytherapy. (IOP Press, Bristol, 1999)
