Chair and Paul Harari Professor, Department of Human Oncology
This fund was initiated with an anonymous donor to provide support for an endowed professorship to advance and support research and education in the Department of Human Oncology. The donor wished to assist the School of Medicine and Public Health in recruiting, retaining, and recognizing outstanding faculty.
Jack Fowler Professor
This fund was established in 2004 honoring Dr. John “Jack” Fowler, medical physicist and bio-mathematical modeler. He has been internationally recognized as a global thought leader in the field of radiation oncology for decades. The Professorship provides funding to a scientist to support translational research in the areas of radiation oncology, radiobiology and radiation physics.
Bhudatt Paliwal Endowed Professor
The Bhudatt Paliwal Professorship in Human Oncology was established to honor Dr. Bhudatt Paliwal who has served as a leader for Radiation Oncology Physics at the University of Wisconsin for 40 years and has mentored hundreds of medical physicists, residents and students from around the world. The Professorship provides funding to an outstanding clinical physicist to support radiation oncology physics-related research in the areas of radiation oncology, radiobiology and radiation physics.
HEADRUSH Professor of Human Oncology
This fund was initiated with Brandi and Chris Funk, founders of HEADRUSH, to provide support for an endowed professorship to advance and support brain tumor research and patient care in the Department of Human Oncology. HEADRUSH is an organization with a vision to improve the future of Brain Tumor research, treatment, and survivorship. HEADRUSH honors Chris and Brandi Funk and their family and friends reflecting Chris’s personal experience battling a brain tumor, and the excellent treatment he received at the UW Carbone Cancer Center. The Professorship is awarded to a faculty member within the Department focused on brain tumor research and patient care.
